Wendy Atkinson - Sports Therapist

Wendy is a sports therapist who specialises in the treatment of sports injuries and also treats all types of back and neck pain, any joint and muscle problems and any general conditions.  In addition to this she offers sports massage and therapeutic massage.

 

A Member of the Society of Sports Therapists, Wendy qualified in 2002 and has since obtained further qualifications including the FA Diploma in the Treatment and Management of Injuries in Football.  This included residential training at the National Sports Centre at Lilleshall under the guidance of the England Team Physiotherapists.

In addition to her practice work, Wendy currently works for the Suffolk County Football Representative Teams and the Suffolk County Senior Rugby Team where her duties include match day preparation, touchline duties and the treatment and rehabilitation of injured players. She also runs a clinic for Ipswich YM Rugby Club providing treatment for injured players.

Wendy also runs a clinic at the Pipers Vale Gymnastics Club (based at the Eastern Regional Centre of Excellence, Gainsborough), providing treatment of injuries and sports massage for both the elite and club gymnasts who train there.
